What Group Practices Actually Need From a Lab

Consistency, predictability, and a single point of accountability.

Individual practice labs are built for individual practice relationships. DSOs require something structurally different — a production partner who operates with the same standards across every case, every location, every week. The quality of a crown sent from your Bellevue location cannot differ from the one sent from your Spokane location. Turnaround cannot be unpredictable. Pricing cannot require renegotiation at the practice level.

Integra Dental’s model addresses all three. Every case is produced on the same production floor, by the same team, using the same materials and the same validated protocols. Pricing is published and uniform. Turnaround is confirmed at submission. There is one contact for every question about every case across every location.

Uniform pricing across all locations — no per-practice negotiation.

Integra Dental publishes its pricing publicly. Every location submitting cases pays the same rate. There is no scenario where Practice A negotiated a better deal than Practice B. Volume pricing is available for groups committing to a monthly case minimum — that rate is agreed upon at the group level and applies uniformly across all participating locations.

Standardized digital workflow with no location-level setup.

Case submission requires no physical infrastructure at the practice. Digital scans are submitted by email or through 3Shape Communicate. Any location with a digital scanner can participate in the same workflow without additional onboarding. No account setup is required per location before the first case.

Consistent output — same material, same protocol, every case.

Every zirconia restoration is produced from B&D Multi-Y multilayer gradient zirconia and sintered on a validated Dekema furnace program. There is no tiered material option and no variation based on case volume or practice size. The crown sent to your highest-volume location is produced to the same standard as the crown sent by your newest location.

One contact. Direct accountability on every case.

Integra Dental is owner-operated. The owner is a certified CAD/CAM specialist who designs, mills, and quality-checks the cases. When your operations team or a practice manager calls about a case, they reach the person who produced it. Not a customer service representative. Not a call center. The operator.

Pricing & Volume Structure

Published rates. Volume pricing for committed groups.

All cases are billed at published rates unless a volume agreement is in place. Volume pricing is available for DSO and group accounts that commit to a monthly case minimum across participating locations. Volume rates are set at the group level and apply uniformly — there are no per-location rate variations and no case-by-case negotiation once a group rate is established.

Production Capacity

30 units per day, scalable to 50.

Current daily production capacity is 30 units, representing approximately 600 units per month at a consistent pace. This is sufficient to absorb a mid-size DSO group of five to fifteen locations without straining the production floor or compromising turnaround time on existing accounts.

Production capacity scales to 50 units per day with additional staffing, which is initiated in response to confirmed volume commitments. Groups with anticipated volume above 400 units per month should discuss capacity planning as part of the initial partnership conversation so staffing timelines align with their ramp-up schedule.

To protect turnaround commitments across all accounts, no single DSO relationship is permitted to exceed 60 percent of daily production capacity without a prior capacity agreement in place.

How It Works Across Multiple Locations

Each location submits independently.
One lab handles everything.

The workflow is the same at every location. No per-practice setup. No variation in how cases are submitted or returned. Operations teams can manage the entire lab relationship from the group level while individual practices interact with a single consistent submission process.

01

Group agreement established

Pricing, volume minimum, invoicing terms, and any account-specific preferences are agreed upon at the group level. Individual locations do not need to negotiate or onboard separately.

02

Locations submit digitally

Each location submits cases by email or 3Shape Communicate. STL, DCM, and most scanner exports accepted. Physical impressions accepted for locations not yet on a digital workflow. No per-location setup required.

03

Production and return

Cases are designed, milled, sintered, and quality-checked in Bellevue, WA. Finished restorations ship back to each submitting location via FedEx or UPS with tracking within the agreed turnaround.

04

Centralized invoicing

Group accounts can receive consolidated monthly invoicing across all participating locations rather than per-case billing to each practice. Invoicing structure is confirmed during the group agreement stage.

Considering In-House Milling?

We can equip your locations and remain your overflow lab.

Some DSO groups at scale evaluate bringing milling in-house at flagship or high-volume locations. As an authorized Arum CAD/CAM distributor, Integra Dental can supply, install, and provide initial training on Arum 5X series milling systems — the same equipment we run in our own production facility daily.

The practical advantage of this relationship is continuity. Groups transitioning to partial in-house production can continue using Integra Dental as their outsourced lab for complex cases, full-arch work, or overflow volume — without establishing a separate lab relationship. Equipment recommendations come from production experience, not a sales catalog.

Authorized Arum Distributor

Arum 5X-200 — 5-axis wet mill
Arum A Series — compact and clinical models
Arum 5X-500L — auto-loader for high volume
ApexMill CAM software
Arena Star zirconia
Full consumables and tooling

Equipment recommendations are based on daily production experience with the same machines — not manufacturer specifications. We know what these mills do under clinical production load because we run them every day.
